It’s hard enough having to keep your kids at home without any social interaction, school or sport, but add the emotional impact that they’re experiencing through witnessing our own fear, anxiety, sadness, and frustrations, and now you also have some pretty anxious and emotional kids.

And, now throw remote learning into the mix. Holy Moly.

So how can we help?

Meditation. We have created age-appropriate meditations, specifically to help with these exact issues kids are facing right now. Although our meditations can be used at any time, they have been created to use as a tool to compliment home-based learning. 

They are guided, easy to follow, short and aim to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which restores balance and invites a state of calm and relaxation.

We have facilitated these meditations in all our kids’ workshops, well-being programs and in Schools with fabulous engagement, and positive feedback.

Meditations for Kids aged 5-8

Receive two guided meditations, created for kids aged 5-8yrs. Approximately 5 minutes in length and easy to follow, these meditations incorporate fun mindful techniques using the senses, breath and body awareness. These are ideal to begin your child’s day with and a helpful tool to use before any activities requiring concentration, as they calm the body, clear the mind, enhance focus and calm the nervous system.

Meditations for Kids aged 9-12

Receive two guided meditations, created specifically for kids aged 9-12yrs. Approximately 5 minutes in length and easy to follow, these meditations incorporate powerfully effective mindful techniques using the senses, breath and body awareness. These are ideal to begin your day with and a helpful tool to use before any activities requiring concentration, as they calm the body, clear the mind, enhance focus and calm the nervous system.

A little tip before you use these:

  • Make sure your space is calm and quiet.
  • Don’t rush into it; lead up to your meditation with gentle conversation and a quiet moment.
  • Put an essential oil diffuser on or burn some incense.
  • If your child doesn’t want to do it, don’t push them. Try again at bedtime or when they’re receptive.
  • Encourage your child to hold their favourite crystal or teddy while they listen.
  • Enjoy it. Meditation should be an enjoyable ritual, so make it fun and your kids will be sure to love it.

Can kids meditate?

Yes, absolutely. In fact, kids usually embrace and master meditation a lot quicker than adults, and the benefits for kids are wonderful. Even if your child has never meditated before, they will find our beautiful guided meditations simple and gentle to follow.  

What do I get?

You will receive two meditations, each one approximately 5 minutes in length – an ideal amount of time for kids to engage without distraction.

Our meditations use guided, mindfulness techniques that help to ground kids and bring their attention to the present moment. Using sensory awareness, breathwork, body awareness, and relaxation, kids will learn to still their bodies and clear their minds.

What are the benefits?  

Meditation is fabulous for kids. It offers a rare moment of stillness in their fast-paced, over-stimulated world. It helps to ground them, bringing their awareness into their bodies and slowing down their busy thoughts. 

Used regularly, meditation helps kids to regulate emotions, make clearer decisions, focus on tasks, worry less, sleep better, and increase their overall sense of well being, making it the perfect addition to any learning task.

Are the 5-8yr meditations different to the 9-12yr?

The content and techniques in the meditations are similar, but the language and delivery differ considerably to ensure they are age-appropriate, relatable and engaging.
